First, I wanted to thank all of you who took time out of your weekend to help in the park beds today. We managed to work quickly and freshened up all three beds. Second, I want to remind everyone of the Spring Hill Lawn and Garden Show at Rippavilla Plantation. The show will be Saturday and Sunday, March 25th and 26th from 9 am - 4 pm. However, the Spring Hill Garden Club will be there from 10 am til 2 pm assisting the SH Parks and Recreation Department in a raised bed garden demonstration to parents and their children. We will be handing out free samples of Espoma organic fertilizer and gardening information. I hope that we can have volunteers to serve either (or both) days.

The SHGC will gather on Saturday, March 11th at the Harvey Park bed at 9:00 a.m. followed by Evans Park. We will work to freshen up the beds by pulling up some plants, planting some new ones and add any soil or mulch as needed. If there is inclement weather, I will send out an email that morning to cancel. The make up date will be March 18th. Don't forget to bring water, work gloves, a hat, sunscreen and bring some tools just in case. I hope as many people can join us as possible, that will make the work go much quicker. Just for fun, I had added some thow back photos of the garden club working in the beds!
